Though I don’t understand the attribution of a post punk label to Neil Dyer’s project Planet Neil, I own that labels don’t matter much, particularly that Dyer earned the right to call his work whatever he likes in the actual post punk band Screen 3, in the early 1980s. Having traded in his electric guitar for virtual synths, and his confrontational stance for a more reflective one, Dyer just released a beautifully constructed new album, Organic. I was happy to chat with him across transatlantic lines from his home in Norwich, UK. My review of ‘Organic’ is here.
