Under the moniker Ska Tune Network, rocker Jer Turner increases all the fun energy of The Cure’s 1992 hit “Friday, I’m In Love” with a ska rendition that’s bursting with musical flavor.

As a one-man band in the studio and self-professed former high school ‘band geek,’ Turner plays a multitude of instruments on the track, which he mimes in his video. Those sounds include trombone, trumpet, saxophone, organ, electric guitar and electric bass. He plays them all exceptionally well and his vocals are pitch perfect too. The tune “Friday, I’m In Love” is an excellent choice for an upbeat ska version, as it’s an example of The Cure’s Robert Smith writing a song that bubbles with optimism.

On his Ska Tune Network YouTube page, which launched four years ago and has 216 thousand subscribers so far, Turner presents a variety of songs rendered in ska style, as well as videos on how he creates content on for the platform. Some of the artists he has covered include Billie Eilish, Britney Spears, Blink-182, The Buggles, as well as themes from Scooby Doo and Sponge Bob cartoons. Jer Turner is an American musician from Florida.
