L.A.-based act Beauty in Chaos is a collective, as studio whiz/mastermind Michael Ciravolo (Human Drama, Gene Loves Jezebel) brings in various artists to collaborate. Past artists include Ice-T, Zakk Wylde, Whitney Tai, Kat Leon, and Elena Alice Fossi.
For their stunning new single and video, Beauty In Chaos teamed up with another studio whiz (also based in Los Angeles) Julian Shah-Tayler. As Shah-Tayler has roots in London’s punk scene as well as roles in his solo electronic work and Bowie and Depeche Mode tributes, he brings considerable skill to the single “Kiss Me (Goodbye.)”
“Kiss Me (Goodbye) is an instant earworm, with warm layers of synth and guitar, great melodic hooks and beats, and Shah-Tayler’s enchanting baritone. The video is a visual feast, filmed and directed by Vincent Cordero of Industrialism Films. It’s a totally cool Los Angeles production, filmed at CinePacks Studios. Ciravolo mimes guitars, Tish Ciravolo is on bass, with Dirk Doucette on drums. Eva Strangelove appears as a mysterious female. Hollywood thrives on illusion, and the studio recording features Shah-Tayler on synths, Michael Ciravolo on guitars, Michael Rozon on bass, piano and drum programming, and Pete Parada on live drums.
The lyrics for “Kiss Me (Goodbye) tell of the end of a relationship in hyperbolic fashion:
Kiss me goodbye we’ll let it burn/ Kiss me goodbye we’ll never turn it back /Kiss me goodbye we’ll watch it tumbling down/ Kiss me goodbye.
