Singer/songwriter Sam Palumbo, aka Patch Kid, nails a cool, catchy vibe with his new song and video “Double Knot.” As Palumbo explains, it’s a song about acknowledging that his actions played a part in his own suffering and the end of a love relationship.
“Double Knot” is a bouncy tune with expert guitars and vocals, while Palumbo reminisces about his ex, who “skipped the meds but you’re ok,” while he suggests a shot of liquor and a cigarette to counter thirstiness and loneliness. It’s these little details that add a slice of life quality to the tune.
It’s an edgy song with lots of melody and great guitars, and expert production by Jon Markson. “Double Knot” is kind of an ode to partying, and the surrender that goes with it.
Patch Kid is from Brooklyn, on Really Rad Records.
