Losing someone can be the most painful experience in our life journey. “Wait For Me” is an uplifting and gorgeous song from Britain’s Karamelien. Led by singer/songwriter Léanie Kaleido, Karamelien is a new project from Kaleido and her band.

“Wait For Me” is a tribute to Kaleido’s father, Top Topham, a founding member and guitarist for the legendary Yardbirds. The evidence of a wonderful musical legacy is here, as well as in Karamelien’s stunning debut single from 2022 “Ascension Heights,” also a tribute to her father.

Top Topham passed away just last month, after struggling with dementia. “Wait For Me,” with its lovely piano figures (by Chris Mars), delicate but powerful synth bass and other electronics, tells us that our lost loved ones are always with us in various ways. Kaleido’s alluring soprano voice weaves throughout. Along with the beautiful video featuring hand drawn artwork, “Wait For Me” is a gorgeous and serene work of beauty,

The lyrics are sheer poetry. From the chorus:

“Wait for me
I’ll be sitting by our favourite tree
With the letters that you wrote for me
No, I never let you go
Time moves on
But it’s with you that my soul belongs
I was here beside you all along
No, I never let you go.”

“Wait For Me” is mixed and produced by Chris Mars (Flock Of Seagulls, Damian Wilson).
