What happened to YouTuber Jeremy Jahn’s commentary on Marvel’s series Moon Knight on Disney+? Jahns, who has nearly 2 million subscribers, is perhaps the most amusing film critic around, and we watched the hit MCU series along with him. It was rewarding to enjoy, along with Jahns, Oscar Isaac’s brilliant work as Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Moon Moon Knight, with all of the adventure and psychological intrigue.
Jahns had glowing reviews for the first three episodes then dropped off the radar entirely, only to review Doctor Strange 2 (understandably) and the teaser trailer for Avatar 2. Granted, Moon Knight Episode 4 was the slowest of the entire season, with an Indiana Jones style search for artifacts. But with episodes 5 and 6, Moon Knight kicked into high gear, filling in the blanks of Steven Grant’s/Marc Spector’s backstory and building up to an epic battle between Khonshu and Ammit, and their respective avatars, Marc Spector and Arthur Harrow (played by Ethan Hawke). The series progresses from deeply psychological scenes in a mental institution to depictions of the Egyptian afterlife, before delivering the epic showdown in episode 6.
Jahns has been inconsistent before. It’s always rewarding to savor our favorite shows and movies with him, and I am more than a little curious what he thought of Moon Knight’s finale. Maybe he’ll see this. Maybe he’ll post something. Until then, I can say that Moon Knight is Awesometacular!
